Wren Woodward Sarrow

Wren Sarrow is a visual artist and curator based in Los Angeles, working across painting, sculpture, and mixed media. With an MFA in painting from Pratt Institute, her practice bridges traditional technique with experimental materials, including distinctive works on recycled dimensional Styrofoam surfaces. Her visual language ranges from bold, graphic compositions to intimate, naturalistic portraiture, often unified by a dreamlike sensibility and an exploration of human emotion, memory, and the natural world. 

Sarrow’s work is rooted in observation and transformation, elevating overlooked materials while capturing fleeting psychological and environmental states. Her imagery often draws from personal experience, relationships, and moments of quiet surrealism, resulting in pieces that feel both grounded and otherworldly. 

In addition to her studio practice, Sarrow is an active force in the Los Angeles arts community. She serves as a gallery manager and curator, supporting exhibitions, mentoring artists, and fostering creative dialogue. She is also the co-founder of the artHYPE Foundation, an organization that promotes emerging artists and expands access to arts education, and of blu art, an e-commerce platform that provides international exposure for both emerging and established artists. 

Through both her artwork and leadership, Sarrow promotes artistic creativity as a tool for connection, resilience, and cultural engagement.
